We are building a product engineering team to help build a health data platform for Scotland. Currently there are roles live for software engineers (closing date Sunday midnight!). There will be more roles across engineering and product in the coming weeks. All adverts are listed on https://nds.nes.digital/vacancies/, we also share new roles and blog posts on Twitter @NDSScotland .
I’ve written some background on our team and the problems we are solving, alternatively there’s video of my Techmeetup Edinburgh talk from last night:

Until now, the development of many healthcare systems in Scotland has been piecemeal, and most systems are unconnected. For both citizens and staff, it is often frustrating to either access information or to share that information when they need to. The NDS is a new team taking on that problem, so that your information is available at the right time, safely and securely; and integrating the information into intuitive products for clinicians, carers and citizens. The NES Digital Team (NDS) is based within NHS Education for Scotland.
We believe it should be easy for citizens to book appointments, get test results, and renew prescriptions online. We also believe that the people helping you – in a hospital, GP practice, or your home – should have straightforward access to the information that lets them do that job. To do that, we are building a data platform across health and social care, across Scotland.
We work in cross-functional teams combining engineering, product, and design with clinical and care expertise. We talk openly about our work, open source what can be reused, and use open standards. We build things iteratively, learning from our users with every release. We use mainstream technologies and development processes to build cloud-hosted products.
We are committed to the principles of eliminating discrimination and harassment, promoting equality of opportunity for all and recognising and valuing diversity.
